MYO CharacterMake your own (MYO) characters are a bit different from a other character sales. You must first order dragon souls (see below) and then purchase a MYO or MYOE Ticket utilizing said dragon souls. Breeding
Check out our breeding page for more information on how to go about breeding at Magesc. Breeding can be done between any two Magesc characters that are of age. The child does not have to be registered on the forum and can be a collectible character if you desire. Simply put, the children of breedings become another apprentice that you own and can do with as you wish. The bred character can even be a completely separate character apart from their parents if you desire. The options are nearly endless.
Once you've obtained a character, feel free to register them and participate in role play on the forum to earn zil.
Utilizing Dragon Souls
As stated in the lore, dragon souls are used as one of Magesc's main currencies. Not only do they act as a form of currency, they are also used to empower your characters for growth. They can buy you anything we have for sale within our in-game shop located here, which, if equipped to a character for growth, can add additional traits to your character's next stage (you can read more about this below). All you have to do is have the dragon souls available and post a comment in the store with the order form provided to obtain your items. Staff will then deduct your chosen dragon souls and add the items to your universal inventory (UI).
Ordering Dragon Souls
Ordering dragon souls is quite a simple and easy process! Just visit the blog entry here to view the souls for sale. It is a fairly simple conversion as well. 1 Dragon Soul = 1 USD plus tax (see blog entry for tax information). Each soul has a different use for the shop as stated below in the Growing Characters segment, so be sure you know which soul you wish to purchase before posting.
The process is as follows:
|
STEP ONE: Place your order by filling out our order form in a comment on the blog entry.
STEP TWO: We will send you an invoice for the amount owed. STEP THREE: Pay the invoice within 48 hours. STEP FOUR: Once payment is received, your inventory will be updated with the dragon souls you ordered. |
You can use those dragon souls for anything you wish the moment they are posted to your universal inventory.
Growing Characters
Why Grow?
Growing allows your character to obtain new traits as listed on each of the race's physical characteristics section as well as brand new full body art. Growth is dependent upon the dragon souls and tears one has in their inventory and is very specific to the type of character you have along with any items you may want to equip to your character prior to their growth that can help further customize them to your liking.
There are 10 different dragon soul and tear types: ysali, ayrala, kiandri, firani, peisio, aiskala, gaili, aedaun, diabi, and celestial (featured below in that order).
Each race correlates with a specific type of dragon soul and tear. The first step in growing your character is to determine which type you must acquire.

Celestial souls are used to grow an expert level character into a master or an orakovan into their khehorian form.
Celestial tears are used to increase the number of equipment slots a character has for their next growth, more information below.

*This is based on which clan your dovaa has chosen, see more below.
Apprentice Growth
Apprentices are the starting stages of all magescian characters. All races have their specific requirements in order to grow in addition to having the necessary amount of dragon souls.
Raguati and asarei characters are required to have a runic weapon (found within the in-game shops) to grow. These weapons are also semi-customizable. More information can be found on the weapons page.
Dovaa also have special growth requirements for an apprentice, as they can utilize any of the dragon souls listed above. As an apprentice, a dovaa has lavender eyes, meaning their clan has yet to be chosen. At this stage, a dovaa apprentice can use any combination of dragon souls for their growth into an adept. This combination plays like a game. For example, let's say the dragon soul cost of a character growth is 50 dragon souls. If 25 souls used for the growth are ysali, 15 souls are ayrala, and 10 are kiandri (equaling 50 souls total). There will be a 50% chance that the ysali clan will prevail, a 30% chance for ayrala, and a 20% chance for kiandri. This is done by a die roll on the forum. This is for the more daring individuals who like a bit of chance. Want more control of which clan is chosen? Just utilize one of the available types of dragon souls in your growth, it's that simple!

Khehora Growth
Khehora grow just like any other race found on Magesc. Via the souls and tears of deceased dragons. All khehora have a clan they are born into (chosen by the player once an egg is won) and that will correspond to which type of dragon soul or tear is required to grow that character. Khehora do not get any equipment slots for customization, as that is reserved for magescian characters only. A ysali khehora will require ysali dragon souls or tears to grow. Any combination of souls and tears (as long as the tears are used in fours) are acceptable to use as growth material. For example, if you have an orakoi, and have 4 dragon souls of that kehora’s type, you will need 12 dragon tears of that type in order to complete the amount of magic needed to grow.
Below is a list of what is required for each stage of growth. The time begins once a khehora is posted to the Art of Magesc website.

Kolkyrae Growth
When purchasing a dragon totem, you have a few choices to make before the magical kolkyrae can be released into Magesc. These choices are dependent upon which grade you have decided to purchase. You may purchase a dragon totem from either Peddler's Rock for dragon souls or from The Main Caravan for zil. Once a totem is purchased and available in your universal inventory, you may grow it by visiting the growth blog and applying for it like any other growth. Dragon totems can only be grown into kolkyrae via dragon souls as they are the most potent magic in all of Magesc.
High Grade Dragon Totem: You will be able to choose an overall theme, gender (M/F/A), and elements. The elements are based on up to two different soul types you use for the summoning (ie: you pay a portion of the summoning cost with peisio dragon souls and the rest with firani dragon souls, this would give you the two elements of water and fire respectively).
Low Grade Dragon Totem: You will be able to choose an overall theme, type, and elements. The lower grade totems result in animalistic 'companion' kolkyr spirits. These spirits are much less powerful and cannot be role played independently (as they need a master to aid), but of course you can buy them without the need to role play them as well if you so desire.
With different combinations of souls, the possibilities are endless. Also, if you utilize different amounts of each soul, (ie: you pay a growth with 1/4 peisio dragon souls and the other 3/4 with firani dragon souls) the character's primary elemental attribute will prevail in the character's artwork.
Equipment & Customization
Customization is a key part in making a character feel like they are truly yours. Here at Magesc, you can utilize add-on items bought from Peddler's Rock to enhance your character's growths. These items, when 'equipped' to a character prior to their growth will make changes to the growth based on what the item states it does. For example, buying and equipping the "Cleric's Potion" item will give the character a more healer-esque essence (potentially robes and/or loose flowing clothing that are white or red -- think white mage) in their next stage, while adding a "Nature Spell Tome" can give the character a more peaceful demeanor and/or some flowers within the piece as well as adding the potential for the character, regardless of race or clan, to be utilizing nature magic if that is what you desire.
Each character has their own equipment (aka: customization) slots that they can use when they grow. This is limited based on the character's stage. We suggest you plan out your growths accordingly.

Please Note: Race traits will always persist regardless of which items your character has equipped when growth occurs. These items just add or tweak other traits about the character to give a more unique feel to them.
Artist Availability
Each artist will have specific availability and their own base dragon soul costs for their art. You can choose whichever artist has an available slot. To view available artists and their prices, please click here.
There is a wait time of at least 1 month between growths to give others an opportunity to snag a growth slot. The growth timer begins once the finished growth art is posted to the Art of Magesc website.

Dragon Tears
You can acquire dragon tears by purchasing them using zil from the Main Caravan, participating in our discord raffles, or by doing dragon hunts hosted on the forum. Dragon tears are utilized in order to partially pay for the growth of characters or purchase items from Peddler's Rock without having to spend USD. Dragon tears are basically the free-to-acquire version of dragon souls. Do take note that 4 dragon tears is equal to the power of 1 dragon soul.
By utilizing dragon tears for character growths, you could be granted up to a 30% discount for adept stage and a 40% discount for expert stage*. For example, if a growth from apprentice to adept costs 80 dragon souls total, you must spend at least 55 dragon souls and can utilize 100 dragon tears (a $25 value) for the remaining amount.
Celestial dragon tears are the rarest of them all and are only available through special events hosted on the forum. Obtaining a celestial dragon tear will grant the player the ability to add it to a future character growth, allowing a character one additional equipment slot for even further customization!
