Within the past 50 years, Arick Skyeforge had gathered together a large group of magescians of all walks of life and set out to the Terra Expanse. He had a dream of creating a large, open city beneath the mountains much like Targallah is carved into ice of Aisko. He wanted nothing more than to open Magesc up to more open-minded individuals of all races. A large metropolis, one that can easily be defended from attack, and open to all who desire a life with diversity and freedom from the confines of the current status quo.
Arick closed Peddler's Rock for years as he and many other open-minded gaili dovaa began to carve the city from the rocks of the mountains in the Terra Expanse. The city began to take shape, but was dark and dreary the deeper within the mountain they dug. With the help of the firani dovaa and asarei mages, the site was always lit up in order to allow the construction workers to continue their work at all hours of the day.
After almost two decades of hard labor, the city was nearing completion. The earthen clan continued their work, carving away at the rock and stone. They built a canal that flowed through the center of the city and opened to the ocean. They built lanterns throughout the entire city, lit by the firani dovaa. In the center of the city, Arick created a large structure which was intended to be used as a city hall and another structure behind it to be used as a consulate of sorts. Around city hall was built a large stretch of buildings all used for the housing district. Then the outer ring held the shopping district. This is where Arick decided to craft the greatest version of Peddler's Rock he's ever built. Much larger and with much more supply than ever before.
From the start of the project, Arick had a specific design in mind that connected everything and everyone. After all, the reason for building this city was to create a welcoming place for all peoples of Magesc, one that was much more protected than Tukyere from not only attack from enemies and outsiders, but from dragons and the elements as well. Thus, Ellora, City of the Mountain, was born.
After the official opening of the city, Arick was declared king and a democratic monarchy was put into place. The entire population of Ellora took a vote and elected the first two council members; an asarei mage by the name of Laeoran Vaen who became head of technology and agriculture and a raguati warrior named Palyrah Yae, who was named as head of the guard and military planning. The three worked together on all decisions needing to be made about the city and oftentimes held elections to have the people's input, as the leaders wished everything to be a community effort.
Decades have passed and the city has become quite a thriving metropolis, for the most part. Crime has begun to sneak its way into the fold here and there, but nothing that Palyrah and her guard couldn't handle. No major attacks have been issued either defensively or offensively, and the world has been relatively at peace.
