On Runic Weapons...
Runic weapons, as stated on the Weapons & Magic page, are special magic weapons that transform into whatever the user truly desires. These can be literally anything you can think of. Any object that you think would fit into those categories. If you have any specific thoughts on what type of weapon you think you'd need for a specific character, please DM Skyeforge to discuss it. Through that discussion, we will decide what type of runic weapon you should take for that weapon choice.
on love and romance...
Q: What is the general consensus of interracial relationships in Magesc?
A: Throughout all of Magesc, interracial relationships between races -- especially those bearing children -- is highly discouraged from a societies point of view. Most people are very weary of doing so because, if caught, the leaders could banish you from ever entering the major cities. The largest worry is between raguati and asarei. Those two have always been at odds, so having a baby or being "Romeo and Juliet", has always been banned. However, this is just societies point of view, and you are encouraged to find love in any person your characters fall in love with! Though be sure to read up on the Hybrids section of the Magescians page for more information.

Q: Aside from interracial relationships, are there other taboos throughout Magesc? For example: homosexuality, age differences, sexual relations outside of marriage/union or at too young an age, rice/poor relations, etc.
A: Whatever you can find in our world as taboo, you could potentially find in Magesc as the same thing. It all goes back to the family/individual's line of thinking. Some people don't give any care to homosexuality, others may find it strange and some downright hate it. Everyone, for the most part, sees sexual relations as an adult thing rather than teenagers but that doesn't stop teenagers from doing whatever they want. Outside of interracial relationships, it comes down to the personal opinion of the character and their surrounding people.

Q: What are courtship rituals like in Magesc? You obviously can't take someone on a date to a movie, so what would a typical date look like in Magesc?
A: In Magesc, there are a ton of ways to go out on a date. There are many cafes and different restaurants that people can find. Festivals to visit together, and even dragon or creature hunting to do. With how much emphasis Magesc places on hunting, two lovers could go on a trip to hunt together, or take a trip to a different continent. Most cities throughout Magesc have hostels and inns that travelers can stay at for a night or more. Anything that a couple would do in the Middle Ages, with a little modern twist, you can probably find to do in Magesc.

On the great engagement...
The war itself is not waged every day, nor do people die to war every day or even every week, as war is taxing in many ways. Although the war is continuous and has never truly died down completely, there are complete months where the battlefields are empty and each race is focusing on the next step or simply just recovering from the last bout of attacks. War can be at a standstill for months if not years before the next large battle is waged.
However, due to the magical power-shifts that occur over the course of both April and October (see "Time, Seasons, & Celebrations" above), you will likely see a lot more fighting during that time, as each race plans larger attacks for their more powerful time of the year. The rest of the year, the war seems to die down a bit and the fighting is really taken off the table while both sides recover.
In the distant past, there have been treaties worked out between the races that called for a ceasefire as economies tanked and seemingly nobody could live. Though each treaty ends when one race feels as though they can finally overpower the other (which has yet to happen entirely).

Time, Seasons, & celebrations
Day & Night
Magesc has a sun (created by Seren) and a moon (created by Soudana), and the two intertwine and create day and night respectively. But, no matter what, it is always just a bit darker while you're on Soudul and a bit brighter when you're on Serenia just due to how the sun and moon coexist. Soudul tends to be a bit colder and Serenia tends to be a bit warmer in general but over all, the two sides are pretty opposite.
Magesc is on a 24 hour time-frame like earth. But for twelve hours a day, it is light and for twelve hours, it is dark. The moon is always full every night in order to beam down enough light caught by the sun on the opposite side for the people to work by night, as this is the raguati's favorite time to be up and about. There is about 30 minutes at dawn and 30 minutes at dusk where the shift in light becomes much more apparent and always at the same times each day does this occur with the sun or moon popping up in the east and setting in the west.
The Celestial Plane was created by Abronaxus alone where he needed no opposite to balance the elements within it. It is consistent and always about the same temperature reminiscent of spring. Night and day work differently in the Celestial Plane as there is no sun or moon which surround it, nor stars or anything of the sort. The plane is in it's own dimension away from everything else Magesc has to offer. However, Abronaxus did keep the twelve hour light cycle the same as Magesc just so the dovaa wouldn't be shocked coming and going from one plane to the other. During dawn, the skies simply lighten and at dusk, they darken to a low glow, just enough to allow the dovaa to see minimally whist outside.

Seasons of Magesc
Magesc itself goes through the same seasons we do here in our world. The seasons of Magesc are reflected through what we go through here in North America. So spring in NA means it is also Magesc's equivalent to spring.
However, in the Celestial Plane there are no seasons at all. As stated above, it is consistently the equivalent of spring in the Celestial Plane. Not too hot nor too cold, although the dovaa themselves, depending upon their clan, may wish it otherwise and keep their personal homes much more warm or cool depending.

Seasonal Celebrations
There are two polar opposite times of the year where the sun and moon take on a different sort of form. In April, Magesc's springtime, the sun gives off a blue hue instead of it's usual white/yellow for the entire month. This month is known as Lae'l Aev (meaning "blue sun"), In October, Magesc's autumn, the moon begins to glow a dark red for the month each night. This month is known as Vaevik Dih (meaning "blood moon"). During these two months of the year, it is said that the veils between realms is thinner, allowing much more ghastly magic into Magesc and subsequently, even into the Celestial Plane.
However, the magic becomes stronger for asarei and weaker for raguati during Lae'l Aev and stronger for raguati and weaker for asarei during Vaevik Dih. Because of this, the two races have their own special celebrations each year full of festivities ranging from festivals, parades, and big shows of magical and physical prowess similar to the tournament held by the dovaa each year. to simple little gatherings in order to honor the gods (think of these as like a church service so to speak).
Aside from those two major times of year, the winter and summer seasons both boast their own special festivities as well, as all of Magesc will become much colder or warmer respectively.
During the colder months (December-February), you will see many people out throwing snowballs and playing in snow (which does tend to cover all of Magesc, but much heavier snowfall can be found on Eowyn and, of course, Aisko). They will also be celebrating the winter equinox, a time when the world shifts into a much colder climate overall. During these months, people will be celebrating the end of another prosperous year and praying to the gods for one to come.
During the warmer months (June-August), you will find a lot more people out near the lakes and beaches and many gatherings to thank the gods for their continued warmth and prosperity (as spring has no doubt given them an abundance of food) and celebrating the summer equinox, a time when the world begins it's total shift into a much warmer climate overall.

Is there law enforcement in magesc?
Yes, though Magesc being a fantasy setting, it is a bit more primitive than what we consider law enforcement on earth. Each magescian stronghold has their own armed forces.
Soudul has the Shadow Guard, which can be considered corrupt to a point. They are very totalitarian in their approach and whatever they say goes. It can be wrong to steal one day but okay to steal the next if it is one of their own doing something wrong. Many of the raguati take issue with the Shadow Guard, but Drago has given them full reign of Obsidian City. Although they run the city the way they desire and it can be a corrupt system, they do deter much of the basic threats to the people of the city and surrounding areas.
Serenia has the Guardians. The Guardians' purpose is to help those who can't help themselves. They're bound to the guild and help fend off dragons, thieves, accompany civilians and other battler's through treacherous dungeons and caves all at the price of a few dragon souls. Wherever you need to go, the Guardians will help you through. Those who have a need must just send word for one, and at the price of a couple dragon souls, they will treat you as though you're their king or queen. They have any type of mercenary available. From barbarians to warriors, from archers to mages. Any type of adventure you're looking for, they have a person to help you through. The Guardians is a guild that one can join through RP if desired.
The Celestial Plane has what is called the Celestial Guard, and they do very basic things as there is not much fear in the Celestial Plane of dragons, but rather they are there to help settle disputes. Think of them as less law enforcement and more a judge and jury. They help with squabbles, and they are armed and many have magical armor which helps ward off the magic of the dovaa, as you can imagine if everyone in the Celestial Plane has magic, they'd need to be heavily fortified. And all Celestial Guard members have powerful warding magic only made available to them for their own defense against magical spells. The guard also hosts a tournament yearly at the Coliseum in order to see who will take over as the head of the guard and work as Marcus Ysaride's right hand man (or woman).

How far can an apprentice travel?
Apprentices, being as young and naive as they are, are typically kept away from battling for the most part until they are at least of adept age. They tend to go to school in their respective colleges and are trained in the ways of combat and the history of Magesc. They may also take classes during this time to help with a profession. But when traveling, it all depends on you, the writer. They can travel anywhere in Magesc you want them to. Of course, boarding a ferry may be difficult without an adult, teacher, or guardian, but some ferryman may not care and give a free ride to a kid just for the hell of it. To be honest, that is up to you.
Granted, sending a small child into enemy territory maaaaay not end too well... But half the fun is figuring out how they would get out of such a predicament.

Events
may i bid on multiple characters in one event?
Yes! Feel free to bid on any number of characters you wish to purchase during a single event. We do not want to discourage anyone from participating in any events just because they may own multiple Magesc characters.
Miscellaneous
can i bring over my gaia characters to the new magesc?
In a sense, yes! We have the Magesc of Old page and in order to bring over an old magescian character, you must fill out the form there and be willing to commission one of our wonderful artists to reincarnate the character into this new Magesc world. Please be sure to check slot openings to ensure they are open, otherwise you may be waitlsited.
As far as khehora go, if they are on the same base as our current khehora and are feral they will be allowed to be transferred over. This is because the life expectancy of a khehora is much higher than a magescian and they could have lived through the last hundred years. The bonded khehora would have, sadly, passed away with their magescian counterparts.
